I move slowly and can’t seem to find the pep to do what I want. Our basement is wonderful - when you started I wondered if it was going to work out, when you finished I was amazed and my husband looked at it with disbelief! I am so proud and have not moved a thing - you two gals are awesome, no wonder they had such a good article about you in Grand magazine.
Take care of yourselves - you are the best!

I want to let you know how much our day of organizing together has impacted my life. Getting the basement chaos dealt with gave me such a lift, and has contributed significantly to propelling me to get other projects completed. Two weeks ago I found someone who helped me put up an entire wall of photos of ancestors in the office. It's very meticulous and painstaking process, but it's done! I've also got some other pictures hung. It's starting to feel like we live here.
I shared with you that I had been struggling with caregiver burnout, overwhelm and winter depression. I have been doing a number of things to help myself, but the organizing was probably the biggest single thing that has helped me. I am feeling MUCH better.
You were a pleasure to work with, and worth every penny.
Thanks, Marilyn
I just got back to the office so grateful for your help. Getting that pile allocated really helped. Amazing how easy it was to prepare for my income tax return this year. When the time came to take our forms to our "income tax guy" it took a total of 30 seconds. We simply went to the hot file labeled, "this years income tax" and every thing was there. It took me longer to put it into the envelope and deliver that envelope. This was such a relief to us. Usually, I leave it too late and then it becomes "an issue" between my husband and I. But, not this year! Thanks to Heart of the Matter. Just wanted you to know how valuable your help to organize has been to me.
Thanks again, Christine Wilson
Sometimes a picture speaks louder than words.
I would just like to thank you for all your help on Tuesday. We really appreciated your professionalism, enthusiasm and efficiency! You are both truly blessed with a gift to help others! Mom was a little worried before you came that her things that someone else deemed 'useless' would be thrown out and that she wouldn't get a say in the matter. Your approach to organizing is very non-threatening and yet efficient! I've talked to her since, and she feels great! She loves the space already (even with the creative walls...) and doesn't feel guilty about anything that she got rid of. She feels free of clutter!
Thank you so much again, I learnt a lot from you and really appreciated your expertise!
Sincerely, Leticia Mueller
Hi Donna and Rhonda,
I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate how you have equipped me to handle my own clutter demons. After seeing you last week, Donna, I was even more motivated than before to tackle that beast in my house that is our bay window. It is the catch-all of all clutter and had become a mini-mountain. I clambered on it today and did not rest until it was submitted - or at least subdued. In any case, I can see the ledge, the kids were sitting on it, basking in the glory of today's sun and using some of the workbooks that had been MIA for a very long time. And I felt really good about having purged and persevered. It looks great. Now on to my next project.
Thanks again, your work works!
Arlene
Thank you so much for yesterday. I'm definitely on a roll! This morning I cleaned out my freezer. (There was stuff in there from 2004!! Yikes!!!) Then I cleaned out a bunch of old shoes and boots in the hall closet that were bugging me. And put stuff aside to go to the MCC thrift store. (All before 9:30 a.m.) I'm like the Energizer Bunny ... I just keep going ... and going ... and going! It's spreading to my whole place (as one lady said on your website.) Like another commercial used to say: "It's easy when you know how!" Thanks for showing me "how".

We’ve had 2 weeks of school which have gone quite well. It’s always a victory when the first week goes smoothly, so we thank God for that lovely gift this year! Lucas is excited to be in Kindergarten, he loves being in school; the hardest thing for him is that Emily’s schooling takes so much longer than his and he wants desperately to play with her!
The books, papers, equipment, etc., are fabulously arranged. It’s been terrific to have a place for everything and for everyone to know where that place is. Habits that I’d been neglecting with the kids (and, yes, with myself) of putting things away are no longer being avoided, but are being diligently developed as it now seems that I can legitimately expect them to put things where thy belong. No more excuses for lazy parenting!
The day you were here was a blessing for me and the whole family. Ed was so inspired by what he saw that he sorted in the garage to make room for some of the items that had been ‘temporarily’ stored in the back kitchen and now there is room in the back kitchen for the recycling again, so it’s not junking up the front porch any more! Yay! We bought a second shoe rack for the front porch and that has made another positive change. I’m not apologizing for the mess when people come to the door anymore!
Tidying up when I know someone is coming is a breeze, even if things have been left out a bit, because I know where everything goes and don’t have to think about it, just do it. What a concept.
I’ve proudly shown off my ‘new’ cabinets and filing systems. I have two friends who loved the counter top filing box idea and went out and started their own – your work is having a ripple effect through Stratford!
Okay, I’m almost done gushing. It’s important to me that you know what a difference it’s made in my outlook about my home. We’ve felt that we are to stay in our smallish home for a while yet, and this has given me such a positive look at this space again. I do love my home and the place the Lord has put us.
Thanks again for coming, for your hard work, for your encouragement. Blessings to you as you serve others.

I had a crazy day yesterday, but I will say it was so much less complicated because of my "new" kitchen!!!!! I worked all day and then I made a meal to take to another family last night (and then straight to a meeting for the eve) but the meal prep and clean up was stress-free thanks to the fabulous organization! I cannot believe what a difference it made on my stress level to know where everything was, not waste time looking for things, and have a place for everything! Sometimes I just open the cupboards and gaze upon the wonders of it all!! heehee The family loves it too...getting lots of positive comments, some of them quite humorous. The kids are even using the hanging files on the counter already...fabulous!!! So yes, having LOTS of fun with it. I can only imagine what you could do in the other corners of my house!!

It has almost been a year since you came and helped me get myself organized. I am doing reasonably well, I have times when I neglect to put stuff away but it doesn’t take me long to get organized because I know where everything goes.

I love my new kitchen, it is an absolute joy to cook in. You were right about labeling where things go in the drawers and cupboards, things actually get put away in the correct place most of the time.
Thanks for your great organization tips.

Organizing Tip
Everything Needs a Home.... and that applies to items in your refrigerator as well. It is ok to put labels in the fridge! For example, if you have a consistent home where you put the ketchup bottle then everyone knows where it is. They can grab it easily and no longer will you have 2 partly used bottles in the fridge. It also is handy when you are making the grocery list - a quick glance through the fridge will let you know what staples are running low and need to be added to the list.
